There is something called "meal skipping" in the intermittent fasting world. It is called Spontaneous Meal Skipping because it is done at random and it is rarely planned.

In this article, we will be looking at spontaneous meal skipping in depth. We'll be dissecting the topic thoroughly.

Firstly, what is spontaneous meal skipping?

Like, the name implies, Spontaneous Meal Skipping is the process of skipping meals at intervals throughout the day.
Skipping meals especially if you are not hungry is a very healthy way to intermittently fast. It might not seem like real fasting to you but it is one fantastic approach you can take to a healthier living.

Spontaneous Meal Skipping is a process of listening to your body. It says, if your body doesn't tell you it's hungry, then don't eat. The idea of spontaneous meal skipping is to follow your body's nudging. It promotes the idea that rather than pumping your body with food unnecessarily, even when you're not hungry, you should probably let your body rest for a while.

The idea of a 3 meals a day is totally a new thing and a Western thing. Our ancestors had no choice than to do spontaneous meal skipping. Condition not choice led them to do it though.
In the 21st century right now, because food is so widely available, most people cringe at the idea of skipping a few meals. You won't faint, neither will you die if you skip a meal or two in fact, it is super healthy for you!

Spontaneous Meal Skipping being a type of intermittent fasting has so many benefits that it stands to give or offer the body. So yeah, you won't be skipping your meals for nothing. Some of the Benefits of spontaneous meal skipping include:

1. Reduces cholesterol levels.
2. Increases levels of antioxidants in the body e.g Uric acid.
3. Reduces the rate of inflammation in the body.

Things to note:

1. After skipping a meal, don't overeat when you eat your next meal. It can cause adverse changes in your body's metabolic system which is bad for you. So, make sure you eat in moderation after your meal. Don't try to make up for the lost meal. Eat normally.

How to skip a meal.

It's not a bad thing to skip a meal. All you do is decide to not eat any thing for breakfast and then eat healthy wholemade for lunch and dinner. It's not compulsory that it is breakfast you skip.

You can skip lunch while eating breakfast and dinner or you can skip dinner while eating breakfast and lunch. Just skip a meal or two out of the normal 3 meals you eat in a day normally.

When you want to break the fast, be sure to eat very healthy meals full of nutrients. I would advise spontaneous meal skipping for people who are beginners and are new to the intermittent fasting process. It is easier to carry out and won't "shock" your digestive system.

What to take home:

When doing spontaneous meal skipping, be sure to not overdo it as it could be unhealthy. I would advise that you eat breakfast and skip either one of lunch or dinner. Why? Breakfast is an essential part of every person's daily intake. It is very important. So, be sure to skip meals the right way. And when eating next, eat enough nutrient rich foods. Your body will gain a lot.
