What age range is suitable for intermittent fasting?

Over 18 i.e 18+

Most scientists advice that only people over the age of 18 should partake in intermittent fasting. Why? Because children and teenagers below 18 are still growing and developing.

Resenting their meals or going without meals without meals for hours could have adverse effects on these  young people. People below 18 are still developing their brains, their heights, their bodies, and all of these makes the body require energy. And energy can only be gotten when food is consumed.

Therefore, in answering the question of the age that's suitable for intermittent fasting, only people above 18,that is, adults are legible to partake.

For children and adolescents that want to fast or have to fast for one reason or the other, make sure you take note of the following;

1. When you are about to break the fast, make sure you eat foods that are sense with nutrients.

Why? This is so that your body can balance out what it has missed out on so far and feed itself back on those nutrients.

2. Make sure you keep your fasts short.

A 4 to 5 hours fast in the morning will do just fine. And make sure you make up for the lost nutrients and calories by eating very well for the rest of the day. Because you are still growing, you can't afford to starve your body of what it needs. So, make sure to eat a big lunch and dinner after that fast.

What about old/elderly people? Can they intermittently fast too?

Yes, elderly people can fast too. In fact, they stand to gain a lot from intermittent fasting. There's been testimonies of elderly people with cancer who partook in intermittent fasting and then their cancers started receding!
